Samsung Electronics announced that it has partnered with Lotte Cultureworks to open a 'Super S' theater equipped with the theater LED screen '3D Onyx' at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University branch on the 1st and established a mobile-based state-of-the-art movie theater operating system.

The two companies plan to establish a top-tier movie-watching environment through Samsung's Onyx screens and Harman's JBL audio systems, and provide audiences with a special experience through a more convenient purchasing environment and digital experience content.
Lotte Cinema Konkuk University Super S Hall is the first '3D Onyx' theater to be introduced in Korea. With a width of 10 meters, it achieves a maximum brightness of 300 nits and 4K resolution, maximizing immersion in movies and allowing for the simultaneous screening of 2D and 3D films.

In addition, this movie theater has extensively implemented business solutions based on Samsung Electronics mobile products to ensure efficient theater management and enhance customer convenience.

In the theater lobby, there is a smart kiosk based on the 'Galaxy Tab S4' and 'Knox'Screens are scheduled to be installed, allowing for voice-based ticket reservations and concession stand menu orders.

Smart kiosks utilizing tablets are expected to significantly improve customer satisfaction by simplifying operation and reducing service waiting times.

Samsung Electronics, together with Lotte Cultureworks, also established a Field Management System (FMS) based on the Gear S3 and Galaxy Watch to improve the work efficiency of theater staff.

This system is expected to improve work efficiency and help respond immediately to customer inquiries by enabling the integrated control of key management elements within the theater—such as employee communication, on-site inspections, and lost item registration, which were previously handled via walkie-talkies—through mobile devices.

Samsung Electronics plans to take the lead in creating advanced movie theater environments by expanding the application of mobile-based theater operation solutions along with Onyx screens not only in Korea but also in global markets including North America, Europe, and Asia.

"The primary focus of this collaboration with Lotte was to build a movie theater where visitors could have a unique experience unlike anything before," a Samsung Electronics official stated. "Moving forward, we will lead the application of next-generation systems across the entire entertainment market through Samsung Electronics' unique differentiated displays and mobile solutions."
