Mouser Electronics announced today a new partnership with SamacSys.
Mouser Partners with SamacSys
Announced at Electronica 2018 in Munich, Germany, this new partnership will give Mouser customers free access to a variety of design resources, including PCB footprints, schematics, and 3D models for over 1.1 million components.
Design resources provided by Mouser and SamacSys integrate seamlessly with leading engineering CAD systems such as Cadence, Altium, and other programs.
Mouser customers worldwide can access this service free of charge from the millions of Mouser products available on the product detail pages, which feature products from industry-leading manufacturers.
Additionally, SamacSys supports all new products introduced by Mouser, giving engineers access to the latest advanced libraries of PCB footprints, circuit symbols, 3D models, and more for the latest components.

The design process of searching and integrating PCB footprints, circuit symbols, and 3D models is arduous and time-consuming. However, Mouser and SamacSys have collaborated to solve a problem that has been long-standing but unresolved: giving engineers easy access to high-quality PCB library content.
The two companies aim to provide everyone with high-quality, reliable libraries that can be seamlessly used in engineers' existing PCB design tools and to accelerate time to market.

Evolving Foundry Technology Leads the 4th Industrial Revolution
Samsung Electronics Foundry Division President Jung Eun-seung delivered a keynote speech at the International Electron Devices Meeting held in San Francisco on the theme of "Industry 4.0 and Foundry." In his keynote address, President Jung emphasized that to process the rapidly growing data in the Industry 4.0 era, semiconductor integration density must be increased to continuously improve performance and power efficiency. He stressed that the evolution of advanced foundry technologies such as EUV lithography and STT-MRAM is critical for this. He also noted that implementing new ideas such as autonomous vehicles and smart homes requires advanced semiconductor technology. Going forward, the foundry business will not only strengthen its existing role in contract semiconductor manufacturing but will also expand collaboration ranging from design services to package and test operations according to customer requests.
