KT announced on the 16th that it will introduce 'Naver Pay' and 'Kakao Pay' simple payment services to Olleh TV, the first in the domestic paid broadcasting industry.

Previously, Olleh TV's VOD fees were charged via a bill aggregation method, making it difficult for someone other than the TV account holder to pay for VOD services. With the introduction of KT's simple payment service, users can now conveniently pay directly using their own simple payment accounts, even when visiting relatives during the holiday season to watch the latest movie VODs.

KT has decided to simultaneously introduce 'Naver Pay' and 'Kakao Pay' services to dramatically improve customer payment convenience. The simple payment service will be applied first to the latest set-top box models such as GiGA Genie and UHD, and will be expanded to all set-top box models within the first half of next year.

To use the simple payment service, you can conveniently and securely pay for VOD by following these steps: ▲ Select 'Naver Pay' or 'Kakao Pay' as the payment method on the Olleh TV simple payment screen ▲ Enter the mobile phone number and date of birth registered to your Naver or Kakao account ▲ Access the mobile app link (URL) received on your mobile phone ▲ Complete identity verification procedures, such as a simple password or fingerprint recognition, within the mobile app.

To commemorate the introduction of the 'Naver Pay' simple payment service to Olleh TV, KT is holding a 1,000 won 'Naver Pay' point cashback event for one month starting from the 17th for customers who purchase paid VOD worth 3,000 won or more using 'Naver Pay'.

Lee Seong-hwan, Senior Vice President of KT’s Media Business Division, stated, “By being the first in the industry to introduce simple payment services, which have seen a rapid increase in usage recently, to Olleh TV, we have been able to enhance payment convenience for our customers,” adding, “We will continue to expand differentiated services from a customer perspective in the future.”
