On the 20th, KT Powertel launched 'Smart Construction,' a solution that enables convenient and safe management of construction sites using ICT.
Smart Construction is a solution that assists with the risk assessments required at construction sites in accordance with the Industrial Safety and Health Act and prevents construction accidents in advance by sharing work status in real time with workers and managers.

This solution consists of the LTE smartphone walkie-talkie 'Razer S', 'Site Comprehensive Management' and 'Risk Alert' apps, and beacons installed at construction sites.

With smart construction, construction site managers can conduct risk assessments—previously performed manually—using the comprehensive site management app installed on the Rajer S. Furthermore, it is possible to quickly share assessment results, corrective action outcomes, and risk factors with managers in other fields.

Construction site workers receive a warning notification via a risk alert app connected to a beacon when approaching within a 50m radius of a work site with risks such as falling objects or electric shocks. This allows workers to recognize in advance that work must be carried out more carefully at their current location.

In particular, smart construction collects the number of on-site workers working in hazardous areas using beacons and transmits it to safety managers in real time, and supports rapid communication in the event of an emergency by linking all apps used in smart construction with the smartphone walkie-talkie app 'Razer PTT'.

Smart Construction, launched by KT Powertel, is available for subscription through KT Powertel branches and agencies starting from the 20th, and further details can be obtained through the KT Powertel Customer Center (phone number: 1588-0130).

KT Powertel CEO Kim Yun-su stated, “‘Smart Construction’ was developed by combining radio communication and IoT technology to enable construction workers to perform their duties more safely and efficiently on site,” adding, “We will continue to identify customer needs and develop various solutions that can create synergy with radio services.”

Meanwhile, KT Powertel is focusing on expanding the LTE radio market by combining business support services with radio technology, including the launch this year of 'Easy-i Ready-mix Concrete,' which allows sharing of ready-mix concrete work status and location information, and the 'Smart Building' solution, which integrates Razer into building management tasks.
