Dell Wins 9 CES 2019 Innovation Awards
Gaming and premium laptops, software, etc. unveiled
Riot Games also announced a LoL partnership agreement.


Dell unveiled a large number of gaming and consumer PC products and software at CES 2019.

Dell, which won CES 2019 Innovation Awards in a total of nine categories, unveiled the new brand identity for its gaming brand Alienware for the first time and announced solutions that innovate the gaming experience and new partnerships for the advancement of esports. In addition, along with a new model of Dell’s flagship premium laptop ‘XPS 13’, new products were unveiled for the business laptop ‘Latitude’ and the 2-in-1 ‘Inspiron’, which offers both affordability and affordability.


Alienware Area-51m with next-generation design
Alienware, which has maintained a unique brand concept since its founding in 1996, unveiled a new design identity called 'Alienware Legend' at CES 2019.
Alienware Legend, which seeks innovation while inheriting a unique concept based on existing sci-fi culture, maintains overclocking with the latest thermal and cooling technologies and revolutionizes the gaming experience by adopting a custom RGB lighting system called 'Alien FX Lighting,' an ultra-thin bezel, and a three-knuckle hinge design.

The Alienware Legend design was first incorporated into the gaming laptop 'Alienware Area-51m' unveiled at the same time.

The 17-inch Alienware Area-51m, featuring a 144Hz thin bezel display, is the first and only laptop to feature a 9th-generation 8-core desktop processor, 64GB of memory, 2.5Gbps Ethernet technology, and an upgradeable processor. Performance has improved by 50% compared to the previous product, and the volume has been reduced by 32%. It also includes essential features for gamers, such as Tobii eye-tracking technology and the latest 'Alienware Command Center,' which helps set up the optimal gaming environment.

Alienware Area-51m will be released in two color models, 'Luna Light' and 'Dark Side of the Moon'. It is scheduled to be released to Korean gamers in the first quarter of this year.


The m17 adds performance to mobility, and the G5 15 offers great value for money.
The Alienware m15, unveiled by Dell last November, is the lightest and thinnest 15-inch gaming laptop among Alienware notebooks and won the CES Innovation Award this year.
The newly unveiled 'Alienware m17' is scheduled for release in Korea in January and features a generous 17-inch size and a weight and thickness designed for portability so that AAA games can be enjoyed anywhere.

It provides enhanced thermal headroom with Cryo-Tech cooling technology and dynamic CPU overclocking with 8th Gen Intel Core i5 and i7 processors. In addition, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 Series GPUs are scheduled to be installed around March for enhanced gaming performance, including real-time ray tracing, AI, and programmable shading for sophisticated graphics processing.
The G series is a gaming laptop first introduced by Dell last year for budget-conscious or entry-level gamers. The 15-inch 'G5 15' stands out with its excellent design featuring thin bezels, and is equipped with 8th-generation Intel CFL-H quad-core or hexa-core processors and the latest NVIDIA graphics, allowing users to enjoy high-spec games and utilize it for various daily tasks.

In addition to a 144Hz refresh rate and an optional G-SYNC display panel to prevent screen tearing, it includes custom backlighting and a 4-zone RGB keyboard that changes color in four distinct areas. The Dell G5 Special Edition is also available in Alpine White, featuring a stylish design with a transparent bottom panel that reveals the Blue Fan cooling system. It is scheduled to be released in Korea within the first quarter.


New XPS 13 with Top Mount HD Webcam
Another CES 2019 Innovation Award winner, the 'XPS 13', is a premium laptop for both professionals and general consumers.


The new XPS 13 unveiled at this CES adds perfection with an innovative top-mount webcam and a 'Frost' color option. The HD webcam is only 2.25mm thick, providing an excellent video experience while maintaining Dell's proprietary ultra-thin bezel technology, the 'InfinityEdge' display.

Powered up with the latest quad-core 8th Gen Intel Core processor, the XPS 13 boasts strong performance compared to its competitors and is Dell's first laptop to support Dolby Vision. It displays light up to 40 times brighter and blacks 10 times darker than the standard, adding depth to light and shadow and revolutionizing the entertainment experience with photorealistic visuals. In addition to the existing Silver color, two new colors, Rose Gold and Frost, are scheduled to be released in Korea on January 11.


Latitude 7400, smarter with user detection proximity sensor
Dell's Latitude 7400 2-in-1, a CES 2019 Innovation Award winner, is a 14-inch 2-in-1 for users who want performance, portability, connectivity, and a beautiful design all at once.
The Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is a PC equipped with a proximity sensor for Intel Context Sensing technology that detects users to start the system and provides 'ExpressSign-in' features such as scanning for Windows Hello facial recognition login. When the user leaves their seat, it automatically locks to preserve battery life and maintain security.

The Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is particularly small among 14-inch 2-in-1s, offering satisfactory battery life, connectivity, and ports without sacrificing performance despite its compact size. It aims for a maximum battery life of up to 24 hours on a single charge and charges up to 80% in just one hour using Dell's 'ExpressCharge' technology. It is also easy to open and close thanks to its variable torque hinge. It is scheduled for release in Korea around the second quarter of this year.


Pre-release of the Inspiron 7000 2-in-1, capturing both design and performance
The 'Inspiron 7000 2-in-1,' set to be released this summer, was also unveiled first at CES. As a new 13- and 15-inch 2-in-1, it features the latest 8th Gen Intel Core processors, an aluminum body with slim bezels, and a design with diamond-cut edges on the ClickPad. Convenience has been enhanced by a design that allows a standard-sized Active Pen to be mounted on the hinge.
To satisfy both design and functionality, the power button and fingerprint reader have been integrated and placed as part of the keyboard, and for the first time in a Dell 15-inch 2-in-1, an additional numeric keypad has been included. By adopting Adaptive Thermal technology, performance profiles can be customized according to the user's situation, such as reducing heat while watching movies or maximizing productivity for work. It is scheduled to be released in Korea in the early second half of the year.

Dell is equipping its laptops with OLED displays and 240Hz monitors. Having previously adopted OLED in its 13-inch gaming laptops to provide better image quality and faster response times, Dell is now equipping its premium laptops with 15-inch OLED panels. Starting this March, models such as the Dell XPS 15 and Alienware m15 are scheduled to feature OLED panels with HDR (High Dynamic Range), 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 100,000:1 contrast ratio. An Alienware m15 with a 240Hz panel is also scheduled to be unveiled in April of this year.


Extensive software update for a perfect gaming environment
Dell is also carrying out an update to the 'Alienware Command Center' software, which was first unveiled at CES 2018.

Alienware Command Center, which integrates system settings, content, and other functions to easily optimize PCs and peripherals as needed, now offers GPU overclocking and underclocking through an update. Adjustments can be made at the system level and can be tailored to heat management or CPU and RAM overclocking. The interface has also been improved for easier use.

The 'Dell Cinema' solution, which provides a vibrant cinematic immersive experience, is also being updated. The new XPS and some Inspirons offer Cinema Solutions that provide picture quality, sound clarity, and prioritized content streaming suitable for watching the latest movies.

Waves MaxxAudio NX captures head movements via a webcam and provides 360-degree audio sound tailored to the user's situation while wearing headphones.

In addition, 'CinemaStream 2.0' reduces buffering in video streaming by up to 10 times and improves image quality by up to 6 times, and automatically detects critical network traffic and maximizes the bandwidth to optimize for uninterrupted real-time video streaming and video calls.

All of Dell's consumer PCs have added wireless file transfer capabilities to the 'Dell Mobile Connect' solution, which enables seamless wireless integration with smartphones. Android users can transfer files such as photos between their phones and PCs using drag-and-drop, even without an internet connection.
Meanwhile, Dell’s Alienware, which has contributed to the development of esports through sponsorships such as the esports team Team Liquid, announced at this CES that it has entered into a multi-year partnership with Riot Games, a game company widely known worldwide for League of Legends (LoL).

Alienware will provide and manage hundreds of PCs across five continents annually for official leagues, such as international LoL tournaments. Additionally, it plans to help raise the level of competition and spread esports culture by operating VIP seats for fans at playoff and finals venues and supporting streaming broadcasts.
