Samsung Electronics has established the "Samsung Master Craftsman" system this year to enhance technological competitiveness in the IT field and foster top technology experts.

Samsung Master Craftsman is a system that certifies employees who have at least 20 years of experience in fields such as manufacturing technology, molds, measurement, equipment, and quality, which particularly require technical expertise and know-how, and possess craftsman-level skills and know-how as top experts.

Samsung Masters are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of △the highest level of professional competence and advanced technology, △continuous efforts to nurture juniors, and △contribution to management.
Samsung Electronics selected the first four Samsung Masters and held a certification ceremony at the company's inauguration ceremony held on the 2nd at 'Samsung Digital City' in Suwon with approximately 500 people in attendance, including executives and employees.

Master Lee Cheol (54 years old), a member of the Home Appliances Division, who was selected in the ‘Manufacturing Technology’ category, joined the company in 1989 and has worked in the manufacturing technology field for 24 years, earning recognition as a printed circuit board (PBA) manufacturing expert.

This master craftsman contributed to enhancing Samsung Electronics' domestic and international PBA manufacturing competitiveness by establishing a PBA integrated control center that automatically controls production line equipment and monitors quality levels in real time.

He is a manufacturing technology master who has taken the lead in building a global-level smart factory by automating processes such as the PBA process for refrigerators and air conditioners, which were previously assembled by hand, and implementing a 24-hour unmanned production system.
Master Jong-won Lee (57 years old) of the Global Technology Center, recognized in the 'Mold' sector, is a veteran acknowledged by all, having worked in the mold field for 25 years since joining the company in 1993.

Based on his experience in developing mechanisms for major products, this master craftsman developed molds for new product designs, such as the Bordeaux TV shaped like a wine glass and the Galaxy S6 metal case, contributing to solidifying Samsung Electronics' leading position in the world.

Park Sang-hoon (51 years old), a foundry business division master selected in the ‘measurement’ field, joined the company in 1993 and has been working as a semiconductor data analysis (defect analysis) expert for 25 years, leading the way in improving semiconductor yields through research on various analysis techniques.

In particular, we built a one-click automatic analysis system that implements accumulated data analysis know-how into a standardized system, leading employees to increase work efficiency.

Since 2013, the company has hosted analytical technology seminars to cultivate junior analysts, fostering approximately 400 analytical professionals. Recently, the company has been continuously pursuing innovative activities, including researching new analytical techniques utilizing big data.
Master Hong Seong-bok (51 years old), who was selected in the ‘Equipment’ field as the head of TSP (Test & System Package), joined the company in 1984 and has been working there for 34 years.While working in the conductor assembly equipment business, I have been working to strengthen Samsung Electronics' semiconductor equipment competitiveness by improving the structure of semiconductor post-processing equipment.

Master Hong has contributed to securing competitiveness through facility innovations, such as the first development of automatic equipment variety replacement technology and the development of a new facility abnormality detection sensor. He is also recognized for his strong sense of responsibility and leadership.
