Clouds with virtual machines, such as VMware AWS, are on the rise.

VMware, a global virtual machine software company, is launching the first VMware Cloud on AWS service in Korea in collaboration with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
VMware Cloud on AWS is a service that allows users to apply and operate virtual machines of their desired architecture using virtual machines provided by VMware on AWS's cloud service.
This allows existing on-premise cloud or self-server users to easily migrate installations to VMware virtual machines in the AWS cloud with the same architecture as their existing use, enabling independent migration to individual servers and cloud environments.

David Bate, VMware’s vice president of Asia Pacific, who made the announcement that day, said, “The industry as a whole is moving business applications to the cloud,” and “VMware Cloud on AWS can be used for purposes such as easy and fast cloud migration, data center expansion, and disaster recovery, and a wide range of applications can be migrated to the cloud, from a company’s business-critical applications to its entire data center.”
Demonstrates the overall vision of VMware Cloud. (Edge and TELCO are services provided by domestic telecommunications companies such as KT in addition to AWS.)
Vice President Bate also explained, "This AWS-based VMware Cloud is a service developed in collaboration with AWS, and can be used in conjunction with more than 160 services currently owned by AWS. Through this, customers can perform various high-difficulty functions such as AI, machine learning, and deep learning required for existing and new businesses."
In-ho Jeon, President and CEO of VMware Korea, stated, "To successfully support VMware Cloud on AWS in Korea, we have selected a total of nine partners. Samsung SDS, Hyosung Information Systems, Megazone Cloud, and Youngwoo Digital will serve as managed service partners, while OpenBase, Goodmorning I-Tech Co., Ltd., and iTech System Co., Ltd. will serve as solution partners." In addition, two domestic startups were selected as partners for system architecture and service build-up.
Regarding the background for selecting domestic startups, CEO Jeon In-ho explained, “RegTech, a regulatory technology similar to FinTech in the financial sector, is becoming an issue in the area of cloud migration. While looking for domestic companies that have secured such RegTech-related technology, we discovered two startups.”
VMware currently has over 4,200 cloud providers worldwide, with services available in 120 locations worldwide. VMware Cloud on AWS is available globally in 16 countries where AWS services are supported, and support is available in Korea through the AWS website.

VMware Expands Service Portfolio for Multicloud

VMware on KT Cloud, Stability and Economy at the Same Time

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
