Advantech to Create a Joint Growth Model Through Partner Investment

IoT applications, which are becoming increasingly widespread, are improving business efficiency across industries. AI is key to driving IoT applications to the next level: AIoT.

On the 19th, Advantech held the '10th Advantech Embedded Design-in Forum' at the L Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, with the theme of 'Development into the future of AIoT through embedded innovation.' Miller Chang, President of Advantech's Embedded IoT Group, who visited Korea, delivered the keynote speech of the forum's namesake.

Through this forum, Advantech engaged in in-depth discussions on embedded innovation, edge intelligence, and low-power wide-area networks, and explored practical application methods with partners.

Advantech plans to strengthen its partnerships in the AI and IoT fields in the Korean market and expand its embedded AIoT solutions to the global market.

Launched for the IoT era, Advantech's Embedded IoT Group provides products suited to embedded manufacturing/development, IoT, embedded systems, healthcare, applied computing, gaming, and retail.

Also, edge computing, industrial embedded gateway, LoRa IoT solution, WISE-PaaS, and cloudIt provides the latest IoT solutions such as Loud Services, industrial motherboards, computer-on-modules, embedded modules, software services, other peripherals, and industrial displays.

Unlike general consumer products, Advantech supplies its embedded products over a long period of time, and through its collaboration with Intel, it provides the latest platforms in a timely manner.

Although the Korean market accounts for only 4-5% of Advantech's sales, as the world's sixth-largest manufacturing powerhouse, its industrial infrastructure is well-established, as is its general infrastructure. There are many areas where embedded solutions can be applied.

Advantech, which is seeking to expand its embedded IoT design-in solutions, has selected 'ePaper' as a case study that could be introduced to the Korean market.

“The e-paper installed at Taiwan’s bus stops looks similar to paper to the naked eye, but it is an ultra-low-power display that uses solar energy,” said CEO Chang. “It provides various information in real time, such as the expected bus arrival time and the number of remaining stops, through wireless communication.”

Advantech believes that building healthy partnerships is key in the AIoT era, which is based on AI and IoT, and is building cooperative relationships with approximately 500 companies.

Advantech Director Dong-Hwan Ahn stated, “Collaboration between Advantech’s hardware, WISE-PaaS solutions, and specific domain software and SI partners is more important than ever,” and added, “Advantech plans to invest in partners that we determine have technological prowess and business potential to create a joint growth model.”
