Nuvoton Technology has launched a new industrial microcontroller, the NuMicro® MS51 series, featuring a 1T 8051 embedded core.

These microcontrollers come with 8/16/32KB of flash and 1/2KB of SRAM, and come in packages ranging from 10 to 32 pins. They operate from 2.4V to 5.5V and meet industrial operating temperatures from -40°C to 105°C.

The NuMicro® MS51 series supports system frequencies of 10kHz and 24MHz, achieving precision of up to 1%. It also features IO pins capable of operating at high currents of 20mA and high frequency interference resistance of 8kV ESD and 4.4kV EFT.
The NuMicro® MS51 series offers upgraded features and rich components. A high-precision ADC of up to 12 bits can accurately collect data from 15 external channels, and the built-in bandgap can accurately estimate the power supply voltage.

Five sets of serial interfaces boasting speeds of up to 1 Mbps can connect various types of modules, including one set of I2C and one set of SPI.

In addition, the PWM output, which supports up to 12 channels, has functions such as compensation output, deadband control, and independently configurable timers, allowing a wide range of parameter settings to suit various applications.

In terms of chip security, the MS51 series provides three types of protection mechanisms to protect the chip and customer intellectual property rights.

The flash lock bit prevents arbitrary access to internal data through pins, and can prevent program reads in the area with embedded SPROM (Security Protection ROM) of up to 128 bytes.

Additionally, it provides an environment where customers can perform encryption and decryption tasks themselves through a 96-bit chip Unique Identification (UID) and a 128-bit Unique Customer Identification (UCID).
