Microchip Launches Bluetooth 5.0 Certified Dual-Mode IC and Module

On the 8th, Microchip Technology released a Bluetooth 5.0 certified dual-mode audio IC and a certified module with speaker and headphone manufacturers in mind.

The IS2083 IC and BM83 module are equipped with a power amplifier and flash memory, supporting Sony's audio codec technology, LDAC, and reducing the number of Bills of Materials (BOM).
The IS2083 IC and BM83 module, which maintain application functionality without an external host MCU via embedded mode, provide a power output of up to +9.5dBm, eliminating the need for a separate external power amplifier.
The IS2083 IC and BM83 module include 2MB of flash memory capable of storing updated files during OTA (Over-the-air) updates, and enable high-resolution audio in Bluetooth products using Sony's LDAC audio codec technology.
BLEThe IS2083 IC and BM83 module, which enable secure and fast firmware updates through Bluetooth Low-Energy, Data Length Extension (DLE), and Le Secure Connection (LE SC), can stream audio from the same audio source to multiple devices using Wireless Concert Technology (WCT).
Developers can evaluate both the BM83 module and the IS2083 IC using the BM83 development board ( BM83 EVB ).
