Both sales and operating profit hit record highs for the quarter.

DB HiTek announced on the 15th that it recorded sales of 225.8 billion won and operating profit of 64.7 billion won in the first quarter of this year.

This represents a 41% and 189% increase, respectively, compared to the same period last year, with both sales and operating profit reaching record highs for the quarter, and the operating profit margin reaching 29%.

DB HiTek, which produces a variety of small quantities of non-memory semiconductors using 200mm (8-inch) wafers, achieved its highest annual performance ever last year due to increased demand for power semiconductors and sensors.

This demand continued in the first quarter of this year, and the increase in orders for non-face-to-face products such as servers and PCs due to the impact of COVID-19 also contributed to improved performance.

A DB HiTek official explained, “Currently, both fabs located in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province and Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do are operating at full capacity, and customer orders are also strong, so growth is expected to continue for the time being.”
