Microchip Technology Inc. announced today that it has added the VectorBlox™ Accelerator Software Development Kit (SDK) to its Smart Embedded Vision initiative, which provides intelligent machine vision system design solutions based on its PolarFire® FPGAs.

The Vectorblox Accelerator SDK is designed to enable software developers without FPGA design experience to program low-power, flexible, overlay-based neural network applications in C/C++ using PolarFire FPGAs.

The new toolkit provides broad framework interoperability by running models in TensorFlow and ONNX (Open Neural Network eXchange) formats. ONNX supports multiple frameworks such as Caffe2, MXNet, PyTorch, and MATLAB®.

Unlike other FPGA solutions, the Vectorblox Accelerator SDK, which runs on Linux® and Windows® operating systems, also includes a bit-accurate simulator that verifies hardware accuracy within a software environment.
