Analog Devices (ADI) announced on the 2nd that it is launching the ADM2867E, a new power transceiver product that integrates an iCoupler® isolated RS485 and an isolated DC/DC converter.

The ADM2867E not only has low radiation emissions but also enables EMC compliance to be met on a small budget. Featuring a simple PCB layout and a small SOIC form factor, it offers more functionality for space-constrained applications than ADI's previous generation products as well as current products from competitors.

The new product incorporates intelligent features that can reduce installation and debugging time for the final system through easy correction of installation-based connection errors.

The new product, which supports safety-verified iCoupler digital isolation technology and IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection, maintains signal integrity even in harsh environments.

The ADM2867E includes a 5.7 kV rms isolated full-duplex RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with an 8 mm spacing and amply meets CISPR32 Class B emission standards on a double-sided PCB without stitching capacitance.

The cable invert smart function supports accurate reverse cable connections while maintaining the fail-safe function of the entire receiver. It also supports flexible low-voltage power supply rails for FPGA and MCU interfaces and a 5V isolated supply voltage for PROFIBUS connections.
