POWI Innoswitch 3-AQ Flyback Switcher

On the 15th, Power Integrations launched the 'InnoSwitch™ 3-AQ', an AEC-Q100 certified flyback switcher that integrates a 750V MOSFET and features secondary sensing capabilities.

The Innoswitch 3-AQ is suitable for electric vehicle applications such as traction inverters, on-board chargers (OPCs), energy management DC/DC bus converters (EMS), and battery management systems (BMS).

±3% accuracy was achieved for coupled line and load regulation using Power Integrations' high-speed FluxLink™ coupling without dedicated isolated transformer sensing windings and optocouplers.

Power Integrations explained, “FluxLink technology maintains output voltage regulation even during transient stress tests, which are particularly difficult in PSR-based implementations.”

The integrated 750V MOSFET meets stringent automotive derating requirements, and the on-chip synchronous rectifier controller provides an efficiency of over 90% at a nominal 400VDC input voltage.

The Innoswitch 3-AQ is in the input voltage range It is packaged in a surface mount InSOP with a no-load energy consumption of less than 10mW and a creepage distance of 11mm between the primary and secondary sides, satisfying the requirements for high-altitude insulation of 5000m or more.

The RDR-840Q reference design, which incorporates a new IC, enables startup, shutdown, and efficient operation with a 30V to 550V DC input, and supports fast transient response and various safety and protection functions.
