Today, companies are seeking to increase network availability by migrating AI capabilities from the cloud to the edge. However, implementing AIoT (AI+IoT) technology in applications located in extreme environments entails several constraints.
Accordingly, Moxa launched the MC-1220 series edge computer on the 13th.
The MC-1220 series features Intel® Core™ i7/i5/i3 processors and multiple expansion interfaces. These multiple expansion interfaces enable integration with hardware accelerators such as VPUs. It also supports Intel’s OpenVINO™ toolkit for AIoT application development.
The MC-1220 series, featuring a fanless design with a metal housing, has obtained ATEX and IECEx Zone 2 certifications, ensuring operation in hazardous environments. It operates within an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C and features a compact form factor of 134×60.4×120mm, allowing for DIN rail mounting. Consequently, it can be easily installed in small cabinets at industrial sites.
Remote applications require a wireless connection for continuous communication with the control center. The MC-1220 series supports multiple Wi-Fi/cellular connection options, eliminating the need for an additional wireless gateway and saving costs and space. It also features TPM 2.0 technology to enhance hardware security.
The MC-1220 series, equipped with up to 32GB of RAM, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, two serial ports, three USB 3.0 ports, five wireless antenna connectors, and one HDMI port, supports Windows 10 IoT 2019 and Linux Debian 9 as operating systems.
