Convergence of KT's enterprise-dedicated 5G and dedicated cloud platform
Strengthening the smart factory business through advanced technology KT announced on the 6th that it is launching a '5G Smart Factory Industrial Robot' in collaboration with Hyundai Robotics. Hyundai Robotics' industrial robot integrates with KT's enterprise-dedicated 5G, cloud, and smart factory platform to perform high-speed, heavy-duty, and high-risk processes in industrial sites that are difficult for humans to carry out.

In addition, the key functions of Hyundai Robotics' robot management system and production management system will be enhanced by integrating them with KT's smart factory platform, 'Factory Makers'.

In order for factory robots to move sensitively and to control large volumes of production data, an ultra-high-speed, ultra-low-latency 5G network is required. Given the nature of businesses where quality control and confidentiality are critical, KT’s enterprise-dedicated 5G, which is unaffected by commercial network traffic and offers excellent security, takes on this role.

Previously, in June, KT strengthened business cooperation between the two companies by signing a business cooperation agreement for a strategic alliance with Hyundai Robotics and making an investment worth 50 billion won. Both companies plan to continue focusing on joint product development for digital innovation and strengthen their smart factory business through AI, big data, and cloud technologies.
