TI to Sell High-Reliability (HiRel) Semiconductors at TI.com
Support for material information search function and RoHS information download
Support for South Korean Won payments is planned for the first half of next year.


Texas Instruments (TI) announced today that it is selling most of its high-reliability (HiRel) semiconductors online at TI.com, enabling aerospace and defense customers to design products that comply with the next-generation ratings.

Aerospace and defense engineers and purchasing managers have access to thousands of TI high-reliability products, including radiation-hardened products in plastic, ceramic, and metal packages that are certified by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) Qualified Manufacturer List (QML). Additionally, purchasing managers have various options for selecting dates and lot numbers before placing orders.

“More and more of our customers are developing advanced electronics for complex satellites or harsh environments, and they expect rapid component delivery to help them meet project schedules,” said Gary Reichmuth, general manager, aerospace and defense, TI.

“TI.com has a vast inventory of high-reliability products available for purchase, along with support for multiple selection options and related documentation, enabling customers to quickly secure high-reliability products and begin production,” he explained.

Before purchasing QML-Q/V products, customers should check the material information for ceramic packaging. TI has added a material information search function to TI.com, allowing customers to download detailed ceramic package material information for up to 100 components, as well as details on Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), and green ratings.

Along with this move, TI also unveiled two high-reliability DC/DC buck converters for aerospace applications. The TPS7H4001-SP delivers high power density for QML-V satellite applications, ensuring enhanced radiation tolerance, while the TPS7H4010-SEP offers a wide voltage range suitable for short-duration missions in low-Earth orbit satellites.

Aerospace customers can purchase not only power management products, but also products such as the LMX2615-SP, a 40 MHz to 15 GHz wideband radio frequency synthesizer with phase synchronization, and the LMK04832-SP, an ultra-low-noise clock jitter cleaner, from TI.com. Both products are compliant with the JESD204B standard, increasing system reliability and reducing design complexity and weight in satellite systems.

Meanwhile, TI.com supports payments in currencies including the U.S. dollar (USD), the euro (EUR), and the British pound (GBP), with South Korean won (KRW) payments scheduled to be added in the first half of 2021.
