ST-Schneider Aims to Achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2027
Development of AI Sensor Solutions for SiC/GaN WBG Semiconductors


STMicroelectronics announced on the 7th that it has selected Schneider Electric as a strategic partner to achieve carbon neutrality by 2027. The two companies plan to collaborate on reducing energy consumption at ST's manufacturing and design facilities, renewable energy sourcing strategies across ST's global offices, and the development and implementation of reliable and feasible carbon prevention and removal programs.

This partnership was established based on the long-standing cooperation between the two companies. ST supplies energy-efficient components used in Schneider Electric's variable speed drives, power monitoring systems, building management systems, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Under the agreement, the two companies will focus on improving energy efficiency and strengthen joint development cooperation on additional products, technologies, and solutions to support the digital transformation of buildings, data centers, industrial applications, and infrastructure. In particular, we plan to review the implementation of silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductors and AI-based sensor and connectivity solutions.
