Infineon Supplies GaN Solutions to Improve Power Efficiency in Communication Equipment

Infineon Technologies announced on the 10th that its 'CoolGaN 600V e-mode HEMT' product, which is part of its CoolGaN™ portfolio and is suitable for telecommunications power supplies, has been adopted by Delta's 'DPR 3000E EnergE rectifier'.
Infineon's GaN devices meet JEDEC standards, provide a lifespan of over 15 years, and are suitable for industrial communications and server SMPS. Infineon CoolGaN HEMT in a DFN8x8 package has raised the energy efficiency of delta rectifiers to 98%.
“Delta’s telecommunications power solutions are designed to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in LTE and 5G communications,” said Eton Lee, General Manager of Delta’s Telecommunications and Information Solutions business unit. “Infineon’s CoolGaN solution contributed to Delta’s 3000E rectifier achieving 98% efficiency and a power density of 56.8 W/in³.”
Meanwhile, Infineon's CoolGaN portfolio consists of products suitable for consumer applications, such as adapters, chargers, wireless charging, and Class D audio amplifiers, as well as industrial applications.
