This comprehensive kit provides a complete evaluation platform for the i.MX 8M Plus embedded multi-core heterogeneous applications processor.

The i.MX 8M Plus processor is the first in the i.MX family to feature a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) for advanced machine learning inference at the edge of Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications.

The evaluation kit consists of a compact compute module with an onboard i.MX 8M Plus quad processor and a larger baseboard that provides the extensive connectivity needed for product evaluation. It is suitable for design enhancements for applications such as security surveillance, smart retail, robot vision, home healthcare monitors, smart homes, smart cities, building control, and IIoT.

The processor integrates two or four Arm® Cortex®-A53 cores running at up to 1.8GHz and an 800MHz Arm Cortex-M7 core for low-power, real-time processing. With a 2.3 TOPS performance NPU, it can simultaneously execute multiple complex neural network functions, such as human pose and emotion detection, multi-object identification, and speech recognition of over 40,000 English words.
