A place has been created where you can see innovative cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, AI, and smart mobility all in one place.

Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Choi Ki-young) and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Minister Sung Yun-mo), the 'World IT Show 2021' opened on the 21st under the theme 'Unfolding the Digital New Deal with 5G Wings.'

This exhibition will be held from April 21st to 23rd at COEX (Hall A and C) in Seoul, following strict quarantine guidelines.

This year, more than 300 companies will participate in approximately 900 booths, and approximately 50 domestic and international buyers and 80 domestic companies will participate in export consultations held virtually during the event.

Under the theme of "Unfolding the Digital New Deal with 5G Wings," the "World IT Show 2021" will feature participation from global ICT companies, major telecommunications companies, tech SMEs and startups, public institutions, and organizations related to information and communications technology.

The main exhibition areas are expected to consist of △5G technology △non-face-to-face solutions △software (SW)/computing △digital content/smart media △ICT devices △intelligent ICT convergence services △mobile & communication solutions, etc.all.

These companies will showcase a variety of new products and business models in areas such as non-face-to-face solutions for home and industry implemented with advanced technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented/virtual/extended reality (AR/VR/XR), robots, wearables, gamification, fintech, and blockchain, as well as convergence services such as smart homes, smart healthcare, smart factories, smart mobility, and smart cities.

As one of the major participating companies, Samsung Electronics showcased a variety of innovative products at the exhibition, including premium TVs boasting overwhelming picture quality, such as 'Micro LED' and 'Neo QLED 8K'; 'Bespoke Home' consisting of various home appliances such as refrigerators; and the latest mobile and IT devices, such as the 'Galaxy S21' series, 'Galaxy Z Fold2', 'Galaxy Z Flip 5G', and 'Galaxy Book Flex2'.

Micro LED is a product that integrates the best display technology available and won the Best Innovation Award at 'CES 2021'.

Additionally, this product is the only display that uses micrometer (㎛)-sized ultra-small LED elements to emit both light and color, allowing images to be expressed vividly and delicately, just like in real life.

In particular, the 108-megapixel camera of the 'Galaxy S21 Ultra', which encompasses all the existing mobile innovation technologies, can be used to record screen details in greater detail, and there is also a place where you can experience drawing using the S Pen, note-taking, and detailed photo editing. SKT showcased its AI technologies, including the AI semiconductor 'SAPEON', which is the core brain of AI developed in-house, an AI robot that helps prevent the spread of COVID-19, the earset 'NUGU Buzz' equipped with the AI service 'NUGU', and an AI electric vehicle.

AI semiconductors are the core brain of AI services. They perform the large-scale computations required for service implementation at ultra-high speeds and low power consumption. In December of last year, SKT developed and unveiled 'Sapion,' the first AI semiconductor applicable to data centers in Korea.

At this WIS, visitors can closely observe the shape of the chipset through the large-scale structure-shaped 'Sapion', and can confirm the excellence of SKT's self-developed AI semiconductor by comparing its data processing speed in real time with that of a GPU (graphics processing unit) developed by a global top semiconductor company. Hyundai Motor Company exhibited the hydrogen car Nexo and the electric car Ioniq 5.

The IONIQ 5 is the first vehicle to use Hyundai Motor Group's electric vehicle-only platform, E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform), and boasts outstanding design and driving performance.

It is designed with a unique exterior design and spacious interior to maximize space utilization for the driver and passengers, and can travel up to 429 km on a single charge (based on the long-range 2WD model and 19-inch wheels). When charging at 350 KW ultra-fast speeds, it can be charged from 10% to 80% of the battery capacity in less than 18 minutes, and can travel up to approximately 100 km with a 5-minute charge.
LG Electronics at this exhibition △ Innovative IT products such as LG Gram and LG Ultra Gear △ LG OLED TV with overwhelming picture quality △ Next-generation connected car △ Robot service solution △ LG Objet Collection of space interior appliances △ Customized commercial display solutions were introduced.

The newly introduced LG Gram 16 this year is equipped with a WQXGA (2,560×1,600) high-resolution IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which provides clearer and sharper picture quality than the existing 15.6-inch FHD (1,920×1,080) resolution display.

Weighing just 1,190g, it has been certified by Guinness World Records as the lightest 16-inch laptop. Equipped with a large-capacity 80 watt-hour (Wh) battery, it also offers exceptional portability.

The world's first rollable OLED TV, LG Signature OLED R, maintains OLED's outstanding picture quality while enabling a variety of spatial presentations that were previously impossible with conventional TV form factors, depending on how much the screen rolls in.
This year's World IT Show 2021 will support participating companies' overseas expansion, share the latest trends in the ICT sector through various side events, and foster cooperation between domestic and international companies and professionals.

The 'World IT Show Non-Face-to-Face Video Export Consultation' hosted by the Korea International Trade Association was held to help participating companies conquer overseas markets by inviting preferred overseas ICT buyers and telecommunication companies online. In addition, events such as the '2021 New Product/New Technology Presentation', 'World IT Show Innovation Award', and 'Korea ImpACT-ech Award' were held to introduce innovative products and technologies for the purpose of increasing the marketing effectiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises and discovering domestic and foreign buyers.

In addition, various conferences and seminars were organized to introduce the latest ICT technology trends and strengthen cooperation between related organizations.

The "2021 Global ICT Trend Insight Conference" was held by inviting prominent figures in the domestic and international ICT fields to discuss global trends and development plans in major ICT fields, and the "ICT Marketing Trend Seminar in the COVID-19 Era" presented strategies for responding to the changing market environment and entering overseas markets.

Additionally, a 'Semiconductor Convergence Component Mounting Technology Seminar' was held to share the latest trends and research in semiconductor technology.
