Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers face the challenge of meeting increasingly stringent safety standards worldwide while maximizing range per charge.
On the 27th, Analog Devices (ADI) released the 'ADBMS6815, ADBMS6817' battery management system (BMS) based on ASIL-D functional safety and the latest low-power technology. The two products are optimized for 6 to 18 cell modules. They enable continuous battery monitoring with low power and guarantee the entire vehicle life cycle and the entire device temperature range.
The two new BMSs support monitoring of a wide range of batteries used in the EV market as well as in energy storage systems (ESS) that use reused and recycled batteries, including cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. They also support multi-battery cell configurations and monitor batteries even when the ignition is off.

Han Car Research Institute Begins Full Operation of Integrated Evaluation Infrastructure for Large Electric and Hydrogen Commercial Vehicle Electric Drive Systems
The Korea Automotive Research Institute will complete an integrated evaluation infrastructure for electric drive systems used in large electric and hydrogen commercial vehicles in the Changwon National Industrial Complex in October. ST launches VD56GA 1.1MP image sensor for in-vehicle cabin sensing
STMicroelectronics has launched the VD56GA, a 1.1MP image sensor for in-vehicle cabin monitoring.
