SK Hynix has expanded its high-capacity consumer SSD lineup.

SK Hynix announced on the 18th that it has added a 2TB (terabyte) capacity product to its consumer SSD 'Gold P31' lineup and launched it simultaneously in Korea and the United States.

SK Hynix expects that this product will provide the optimal solution for customers who require high-capacity computing environments, such as gamers and creators.

The 'Gold P31', equipped with a PCIe NVMe interface and M.2 form factor, boasts industry-leading performance and high power efficiency and has received excellent reviews from IT device experts at home and abroad.

SK Hynix, following the domestic launch of the 1TB and 500GB (gigabyte) capacity 'Gold P31' products in January, has now introduced a new high-capacity 2TB product.

The 'Gold P31' product boasts a sequential read speed of 3,500MB/s and a sequential write speed of 3,200MB/s, which is the highest among the PCIe 3rd generation product group.

Power efficiency is up to 434% more efficient than similar products, with read speeds of 172.2MB/s per Watt. This means that faster speeds can be achieved with the same amount of power.

For the 2TB model, the write capacity (TBW, Terabytes Written) is an industry-leading 1,200TBW, providing reliability in addition to capacity, performance, and power efficiency.

SK Hynix Marketing Vice President Lee Sang-rae said, “The newly released Gold P31 2TB product will be the best choice for customers who need high-capacity, high-performance SSDs,” and “We will continue to expand our lineup and strengthen our position in the consumer SSD market.”

Meanwhile, SK Hynix is also selling the 'Gold S31' with SATA interface, which provides stable performance in everyday environments such as online learning and video conferencing, along with the 'Gold P31'. Both products can be purchased at most online and offline shopping malls in Korea.
