Samsung Electronics has realized expansion of robot vacuum cleaner sales through differentiated AI (artificial intelligence).

Samsung Electronics recently announced that the 'Bespoke Jet Bot AI' accounts for 60% of total robot vacuum cleaner sales and is driving growth.

The Bespoke Jet Bot AI is Samsung Electronics' top-tier robot vacuum cleaner product equipped with cutting-edge AI technology including LiDAR sensors, 3D sensors, and AI object recognition solutions.

Samsung Electronics' robot vacuum cleaner sales grew more than four-fold year-over-year on a cumulative basis through the end of August following the launch of the Bespoke Jet Bot AI.

The Bespoke Jet Bot AI uses advanced AI technology to accurately recognize home structures, furniture, and appliances, enabling rapid space mapping, and based on this, implements differentiated autonomous navigation capabilities.

Furthermore, it three-dimensionally detects and avoids not only obstacles that were difficult for existing Samsung Electronics robot vacuum cleaner products to recognize, such as towels, socks, wires, and pet waste, but also small objects as tiny as 1㎤.

The Bespoke Jet Bot AI implements strong suction power and excellent cleaning performance by applying Samsung Electronics' accumulated technological expertise with a 'Digital Inverter Motor' that provides lifetime warranty and a 'Jet Cyclone' structure.

After cleaning, the main unit returns to the 'Clean Station' and begins charging while simultaneously emptying the dust bin automatically using air pulse technology that leverages air pressure differential, providing a convenient feature.

In particular, the ability to care for pets through the 'SmartThings Pet' service is a major differentiator. It provides 'daily record' functionality that records and shows pets' daily activities at preset times and locations, and 'Pet Find' feature that provides real-time notifications when the autonomous vacuum recognizes a pet during operation.

Additionally, when a dog barks excessively or unusual behavior is detected such as no movement for an extended period, the system detects and notifies the user.

It also provides the functionality to play calming music for pet stability through the speaker embedded in the Jet Bot AI or to play video through Samsung SmartThings-linked Samsung Smart TV.
