Intel partners with VMware to deliver integrated technologies for optimized, secure hybrid workspaces.

Intel announced on the 6th that VMware announced security, maintenance, and intelligent analytics capabilities for commercial PCs through a partnership with Intel at VMworld 2021.

Intel® vPro® platform technology integrated with VMware Workspace ONE cloud management provides PC security across silicon, devices, and applications, and automated maintenance keeps PCs up to date anywhere, even when they are off the network or domain.

“With billions of people working remotely, security is more important than ever for businesses,” said Gregory Bryant, senior vice president and general manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel. “The expanded partnership between Intel and VMware will enable enterprises to provide employees with an enhanced computing experience built on end-to-end security through superior solutions like Workspace ONE and the Intel vPro platform,” said Mr. Lee. “Intel and VMware are working together to solve the complexities and challenges of keeping employees productive and secure, regardless of their location.”

This integration combines the rich hardware-based telemetry capabilities of the Intel vPro platform with Workspace ONE, a cloud-native management, analytics, and automation tool, enabling remote configuration, maintenance, and access to critical information such as Wi-Fi performance and battery health. This feature will be available as a technology preview to select customers in late 2021, with broader availability in the first half of 2022.
