Lam Research Leads the Way in Supporting Student Coding Education

Lam Research Korea, a global semiconductor equipment company supplying innovative wafer manufacturing equipment and services to the semiconductor industry, is holding a "coding camp" in conjunction with the free semester system for middle school students in Yongin City.
Lam Research Korea (CEO Sang-won Lee) announced on the 6th that it signed an agreement with the Yongin Office of Education (Superintendent Won-ha Kang) and the Children and Future Foundation (Director Byeong-gi Kim) to support a coding education program for middle school students in the Yongin area.
This coding education program was designed to help students understand and develop interest in basic science and technology principles, thereby fostering creative thinking skills. In particular, this coding education is designed to develop the ability to solve real-life problems, such as environmental issues.
“We are deeply committed to inspiring the next generation to experience the success created by scientific and technological innovation,” said Sangwon Lee, CEO of Lam Research Korea. “We are delighted to support middle school students in the Yongin area to foster the limitless possibilities created by science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).”
Yongin Office of Education Superintendent Kang Won-ha said, “I am delighted to be working with Lam Research Korea to provide coding education that will enhance the creativity of Yongin youth and foster their capabilities to prepare for the future society. I hope that this will be an opportunity for Yongin youth to develop their career capabilities through special experiences that will help them design a better future.”
Lee Hoon-gyu, the director of the Children and Future Foundation, which also runs this program, said, “It will be a valuable experience for middle school students to learn new technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and create their own creations at the coding camp.”

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
이콜랩이 AI 데이터센터용 액체 냉각 기업 쿨아이티 시스템즈를 약 47억5천만달러에 인수하기로 했다. 거래는 규제 승인 등을 거쳐 2026년 3분기 안에 마무리될 예정이다. 쿨아이티는 직접 칩 냉각 기반의 냉각수 분배 장치, 콜드 플레이트, 매니폴드 등을 공급해온 기업으로, 하이퍼스케일 데이터센터와 코로케이션 사업자를 고객으로 두고 있다. 이번 인수는 AI 확산으로 커진 고발열·고밀도 서버 환경에 대응하기 위한 조치로, 이콜랩은 자사의 물 관리·디지털 모니터링 역량과 쿨아이티의 하드웨어 기술을 결합해 데이터센터 냉각 사업을 넓힐 계획이다.
