An event has opened where you can get a comprehensive overview of the latest semiconductor technology trends.

The Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (Chairman Lee Jung-bae) announced that it will hold the '23rd Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX, SEmiconDuctor EXhibition)' at COEX in Seoul for three days starting from the 27th.

Semiconductor Exhibition (SEDEX), an event organized by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, is scheduled to proceed with thorough quarantine measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Led by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, the two giants of Semiconductor Korea, 237 companies from all sectors constituting the semiconductor industry ecosystem, including semiconductor materials, components, equipment, design, and facilities companies, are participating in the Semiconductor Exhibition with 600 booths. It is the largest scale ever.

Ahead of the opening of the Semiconductor Exhibition, the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association presented five key points to watch for this year's event to help exhibitors and visitors understand the exhibition.

In addition, an online opening keynote by Samsung Electronics President Lee Jung-bae and Lam Research CEO Tim Archer will be held on October 26, the day before the exhibition opens.

Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix's advanced memory technologies will be introduced at the exhibition.

Samsung Electronics is showcasing a variety of next-generation semiconductor products centered on four solutions: AI, Datacenter, Automotive, and Mobile.

It is expected to showcase more than 10 types of products, including the industry's most advanced 14nm EUV DDR5 DRAM, the industry's first 200-megapixel image sensor, and proprietary GAA technology MBCFET™ (Multi-Bridge Channel FET) structure.

In addition, through 'Samsung Insight Talk,' the Memory, Foundry, and S.LSI business units plan to introduce their semiconductor technologies and visions.

SK Hynix has set up a booth under the theme of 'Memory Centric Universe' and intends to convey the message that 'memory semiconductors will lead future advanced industries.'

Throughout the exhibition, SK Hynix highlights the status and importance of memory semiconductors used in key industries of the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, such as AI, big data, metaverse, autonomous driving, and next-generation communication networks.

In addition, they plan to exhibit the HBM product family, an ultra-high-speed DRAM used in AI and supercomputers, and the 2TB product of the consumer SSD 'Gold P31'.

Semiconductor materials, components, and equipment companies are also participating in large numbers in the exhibition.

PSK is New Hard Introducing NHM Strip equipment, Dongjin Semichem is exhibiting key electronic materials for semiconductors, including Photoresist, BARC, SOC, CMP slurry, Photoresist thinner, and Precursor.

Lam Research Manufacturing Korea plans to introduce a new corporate brand to mark its 10th anniversary and set up a virtual exhibition booth on the metaverse platform Naver Zepeto to provide a special experience to attendees of the Semiconductor Exhibition.

Comico will showcase state-of-the-art cleaning and coating technologies, Mico Ceramics will present ceramic ESCs & Heaters, and Shinsung E&G will introduce a 'smart wireless monitoring system' that wirelessly connects and manages equipment inside the cleanroom.

In addition to this, we plan to showcase semiconductor production materials, components, and equipment suitable for ultra-fine processes and 3D device processes, including Wonik IPS (ALD, PECVD), Exicon (DRAM, SSD, CIS Tester), and KC Tech (CMP, Cleaning), which possess world-class semiconductor equipment technology.
