Samsung Electronics has solidified its technological leadership in the mobile DRAM market by developing LPDDR5X for the first time in the industry.

Samsung Electronics announced on the 9th that it has developed 'LPDDR5X (Low Power Double Data Rate 5X)'.

14nm LPDDR5X is a memory solution optimized for future cutting-edge industries that are growing explosively, such as 5G, AI, and the metaverse, with its improved 'speed, capacity, and power-saving' characteristics.

The operating speed of LPDDR5X is the fastest among existing mobile DRAMs, reaching up to 8.5 Gbps, which is 1.3 times faster than the operating speed of the previous generation product, LPDDR5, which was 6.4 Gbps.

Additionally, Samsung Electronics applied the industry's most advanced 14nm process to this product, achieving differentiated competitiveness in capacity and power consumption efficiency.

This product has improved power consumption efficiency by approximately 20% compared to the existing LPDDR5 through the application of a leading-edge process.

Samsung Electronics plans to actively respond to the demand for high-capacity DRAM in the 5G era by developing the single-chip capacity of this LPDDR5X to 16Gb and expanding the capacity of a single mobile DRAM package to up to 64GB.

Samsung Electronics will provide optimal solutions for customers' next-generation technologies through technical collaboration with global IT customers starting later this year.And we plan to quickly transition to a new lineup.
