Mobileye, which popularized ADAS—previously a premium option—as a standard feature, has set a milestone of shipping its 100 millionth IQ SoC, the brain of ADAS.

Mobileye announced on the 14th that it shipped its 100 millionth EyeQ® system-on-chip (SoC) this month.

IQ is a chip that serves as the brain of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

ADAS technology, which makes driving safer, was once the exclusive property of high-end luxury sedans; however, in accordance with its founding philosophy of integrating computer vision technology into vehicles worldwide using cameras, Mobileye has been distributing ADAS technology.

A large proportion of cars produced today are shipped equipped with these advanced safety technologies, and over the past four years, Mobileye's revenue related to advanced safety technologies has accounted for 60% of total sales.

According to research, basic ADAS features such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and blind spot detection have been shown to reduce the number and severity of accidents.

Thanks to Mobileye’s efforts to drastically lower the price of ADAS, it has gone from being a luxury option available to only a select few to a standard feature accessible to everyone around the world. This is also a commemorative milestone achieved by Mobileye.

Meanwhile, Mobileye's IQ, first introduced in 2004, transformed the ADAS market by demonstrating that cost-effective camera sensors processed with Mobileye's specially designed technology could prevent and mitigate collisions.

IQ has helped increase the accessibility of road safety technology by providing features such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and blind spot detection to millions of drivers around the world.

In particular, it contributed to the significant expansion of autonomous driving testing through IQ.
