Microchip Technology (Asia General Manager and Korea Representative Han Byung-don), a global leader in microcontrollers, mixed-signal, analog semiconductors, and Flash-IP solutions, has actively stepped forward to foster the next generation of engineers by awarding scholarships to outstanding domestic electronics engineering students.

Microchip recently held the 'Microchip College Student Scholarship Support Program Awards Ceremony' and awarded scholarships to 38 electrical engineering students from 13 top universities in Korea.

This year's Microchip scholarship recipients were selected from among undergraduate and graduate students who achieved excellent grades in courses related to PIC® and AVR® microcontrollers (MCUs), as well as students who demonstrated outstanding performance in embedded design projects within industry-academia collaboration programs.

In particular, the outstanding students who received this scholarship participated in design projects utilizing Microchip products in the fields of the Internet of Things (IoT), security, automotive, medical, power control, smart farming and engineering, robot systems, and motor control applications.

Han Byeong-don, Microchip’s Asia General Manager and Korea Representative, stated, “Microchip enables next-generation electronics engineers in Korea to achieve their professional goals and hone the necessary skills. “We are playing a key supporting role to enable this,” they stated, adding, “Microchip plans to continue supporting domestic educational institutions so that they can provide high-quality engineering education to students in various fields.”

Meanwhile, the universities participating in the 2022 scholarship program are Gyeongnam University, Korea University, Kwangwoon University, Gongju National University, Daegu University, Dong-eui Institute of Technology, Mokpo National Maritime University, Bucheon University, Shinhan University, Ajou University, Yonsei University, Korea University of Engineering, and Honam University (listed in alphabetical order), totaling 13 universities.
