SK Hynix marked the 10th anniversary of its incorporation into the SK Group by pledging to become a company for the next 100 years together with its members.

SK Hynix held a 10th anniversary celebration event at its headquarters in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province on the 31st.

SK Hynix reached exactly 10 years since it launched as an SK Group affiliate on March 26, 2012, when it changed its name from 'Hynix Semiconductor'.

The commemoration ceremony held under the theme of '10 Years Together, 100 Years Created Together' was conducted in both online and offline formats to comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines. About 50 people including Vice Chairman Park Jung-ho, President Gwak No-jung, and President Roh Jong-won attended in person, while the remaining executives and employees participated through online two-way communication.

On this day, Chairman Chey Tae-won conveyed his reflection and gratitude through a video message, saying "Ten years ago, overcoming uncertainty, SK Hynix has now become a world-class premier semiconductor company," and "All members who made this possible are like stars in my life."

Vice Chairman Park then emphasized 'Evolution to a Solution Provider through Super-cooperation that breaks existing frameworks' as the company's future growth direction. He stated, "We will join forces with any competitive partner beyond borders and industries to discover new growth drivers," and "We will develop the R&D Center to be built in the United States into a venue for collaboration with global ICT experts."

SK Hynix previously announced plans to establish an R&D Center on the U.S. West Coast with an investment exceeding 1 trillion won that pursues 'Open Innovation'.

Vice Chairman Park also said, "If we remain confined within the current framework of being a memory semiconductor manufacturer, there are limitations in enhancing corporate value," and "Going forward, beyond developing high-value-added products, we will evolve into a solution provider that proactively identifies and resolves customers' pain points ahead of time."

In addition, Vice Chairman Park emphasized, "We will establish a family-friendly corporate culture and be reborn as a global premier company that includes the families of our members."

The event proceeded with various programs including message delivery from Chairman Chey and Vice Chairman Park, congratulatory videos from the local Icheon community, and the 2021 SK Hynix Awards ceremony.
