SK Hynix has unveiled a new product combining the technological capabilities of both companies just three months after acquiring Intel's NAND business division.

SK Hynix announced on the 5th that it is launching the enterprise SSD (Solid State Drive) 'P5530,' developed in collaboration with Solidigm, to the market.

Solidigm is an SSD subsidiary established in San Jose, USA, after SK Hynix completed the first phase of acquiring Intel's NAND business division at the end of last year.

The P5530 is a product combining SK Hynix's flagship 128-layer 4D NAND and Solidigm's controller.

SK Hynix stated, "Both companies have worked together on product development immediately following the acquisition, and the P5530, a high-performance enterprise SSD used in data centers, is the first result of these efforts," emphasizing that "this product will serve as a signal that SK Hynix's NAND business competitiveness, which has been lacking compared to DRAM, is advancing to the next level."

Both companies have completed their own performance evaluations of this product and are supplying samples to major overseas customers operating data centers. SK Hynix, which has traditionally held a strong position in the mobile (smartphone) sector of the NAND business, expects to elevate its standing in the enterprise SSD market through integrated synergies with Solidigm.

The P5530 supports PCIe Gen 4 interface and will be released in three capacity options: 1TB (Terabyte), 2TB, and 4TB.

SK Hynix President Noh Jong-won (Business Division Head) stated, "By quickly bringing to market a product combining the capabilities of South Korea's SK Hynix and US-based Solidigm, we have been able to strengthen the company's NAND business competitiveness and add momentum to our 'Inside America' strategy. Going forward, we will continue to optimize between the two companies to create synergies that exceed '1+1'," he said.

Solidigm CEO Rob Crooke said, "Both companies will lead a paradigm shift in the NAND industry by creating technological synergies. Starting with this P5530 product, we will continue to supply our customers with the most competitive products," he added.
