e4ds make, a brand of e4ds, a domestic and international media outlet specializing in the semiconductor and electronics industry, announced the winners of the 1st 'Show me the Things' contest on the 27th.

Held under the theme "Show Me Your Temperature," this contest solicited items that measure temperature and humidity to make our daily lives more convenient and smart. Seventeen entries utilizing temperature and humidity measurement sensors won awards such as the Masterpiece and the Ingenious Award, and three participants had the honor of winning the top prize, the 'Masterpiece'.

The masterpieces selected were Toymaster's smart aquarium temperature and lighting controller, Peace Electric's automatic temperature control 3D printer chamber, and Rudals' desktop voice-guided thermo-hygrometer.

On this day, Kim Ryung, Director of the e4ds Electronics Technology Research Institute, stated, “Although everyone was outstanding in terms of technical prowess and completeness, we selected works that demonstrated sincerity and passion, such as by adding even a single extra solder.”

Regarding the five works that won the Creative Award, it was noted that “they added ideas to enable not only simple measurement of temperature and humidity but also practical use in daily life,” and the Passion Award was given to “participants who made excellent use of the temperature and humidity sensor.”

In the review of the winning entries, Director Kim Ryung evaluated, “The smart fish tank was highly complete, not only because of its excellent use of temperature sensors but also because of its superior mobile usability using an Android app,” and “Peace Electric’s 3D printer chamber provided a highly useful idea that addresses a problem anyone using a 3D printer experiences during prolonged use.” He also mentioned, “The interesting point of the voice-guided thermometer and hygrometer was that it provides the temperature verbally when you clap.”

Director Kim stated, “Tools that allow development in conjunction with mobile apps are widely available,” adding, “Projects utilizing cloud services and storage are of great help in terms of project completeness.”

He also predicted, “The community nature of e4ds Make is expected to become more active, and we may be able to strengthen team projects where participants with software development capabilities and those with hardware development capabilities can collaborate.”
