SK Telecom (CEO Yoo Young-sang) and AI robotics platform specialist INTEGRIT (CEO Cho Han-hee) are developing an ‘open robotics data platform’ to strengthen connectivity between robots and increase management efficiency, contributing to the revitalization of the robot ecosystem.

SK Telecom announced on the 12th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Intigrit, an AI-based robotics platform specialist, at SKT Tower to develop an ‘open robotics data platform.’ The signing ceremony was attended by Choi Nak-hoon, head of SKT Smart Factory CO, and Lee Chang-seok, president of Intigrit.

SKT and Intigrit said they will standardize data generated by intelligent robots and establish an "open robotics data platform" that will enable interoperability between different robots.

This allows different intelligent service robots to share spatial and location information with each other according to common standards, enabling more efficient robot utilization.

Intigrit recently launched a control system for real-time control and operation of service robots, including data linkage, compatibility, and upgrades, and has supplied it to large-scale distribution companies such as Hyundai Department Store, Shinsegae Department Store, and Lotte World.

SKT said it will contribute to building an advanced open robot platform by combining its know-how in robot control, vision AI, cloud, location information, and security technology with Intigrit's platform.

SKT said that it expects the ecosystem to be revitalized with the emergence of various forms of robot services, such as using shared or subscription-based robots instead of directly purchasing expensive robots in large public and commercial facilities.

Choi Nak-hoon, head of SKT’s Smart Factory CO, said, “As the robot industry becomes more active, developing an effective platform that can strengthen connectivity between robots and improve management efficiency will become a core competitive edge in the industry in the future.” He added, “We hope that the open platform that will be built through collaboration with Intigrit will create new added value and serve as an opportunity to revitalize the entire robot ecosystem.”

Integrat CEO Lee Chang-seok said, “We are excited to be able to present a standardized robot data system and lead the development of the robot ecosystem through collaboration with SKT.”He said, “We will continue to contribute to the construction of infrastructure that enables intelligent robots to safely process and utilize spatial and location information collected by intelligent robots.”
