Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, achieved record quarterly results despite supply chain challenges.

Applied Materials announced its earnings for the third quarter of fiscal year 2022, ended July 31, on the 19th.

According to this, Applied Materials recorded global revenue of $6.52 billion and a gross profit margin of 46.1% in the third quarter of fiscal year 2022 under U.S. accounting standards. Operating profit and operating profit margin were $1.92 billion and 29.5%, respectively, and earnings per share (EPS) was $1.85.

On a non-GAAP basis, it recorded a gross profit margin of 46.2%, an operating profit of $1.95 billion, an operating profit margin of 30.0%, and earnings per share of $1.94.

Applied Materials generated $1.47 billion in cash from operating activities and returned a total of $1.23 billion to shareholders, including $1 billion in share buybacks and $225 million in dividends.

Gary Dickerson, Chairman and CEO of Applied Materials, stated, “While Applied Materials has recorded record quarterly results, we are facing constraints in meeting demand due to ongoing supply chain challenges. Applied Materials’ top priority right now is to accelerate deliveries,” adding, “Applied Materials is confident that it will overcome macroeconomic challenges and believes in the long-term strength of the semiconductor market and significant growth opportunities.”

Applied Materials revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022 is expected to be $6.65 billion within a margin of $400 million. This estimate accounts for ongoing supply chain issues, and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share are projected to be between $1.82 and $2.18.
