High-end GPU products for AI learning and metaverse adoption are gaining traction. With the growing emphasis on the role of data centers, new high-end GPU servers designed for compute-intensive workloads have emerged.

Super Micro Computer (hereinafter referred to as Supermicro) today announced its latest GPU server integrating eight NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs.

Supermicro announced that its new high-end GPU systems feature improved airflow design to increase inlet temperatures and reduce overall power usage effectiveness (PUE) for data centers, resulting in improved performance. The company is expanding its GPU server lineup with new general-purpose GPU servers. Supermicro's unique general-purpose GPU systems, the industry's largest, include 4U, 5U, and a new 8U 8GPU server. The general-purpose GPU platforms support both Intel and AMD CPUs and deliver up to 400W and 350W or more of power.

The 8U server is designed for diverse, compute-intensive workloads aimed at maximizing data center performance. The new 8U GPU system features high-performance NVIDIA H100 GPUs. With up to 8 TB of memory, massive data sets can be stored in memory, enabling faster execution of AI training and HPC applications. Furthermore, the advanced architecture is designed for GPU-to-GPU communication, reducing AI training and HPC simulation times. NVIDIA's GPUDirect® storage system allows GPUs to directly access data, contributing to improved efficiency.

The airflow design reduces fan speeds, reducing data center noise, power consumption, and overall maintenance costs. The system also supports both AC and DC power, including support for standard OCP DC rack configurations.

Supermicro supports open standards and adheres to open power specifications, enabling rapid delivery and installation of the latest servers to customers' locations, reducing production time.
