SK Hynix announced on the 2nd that it held the 10th Industry-Academia Research Project Excellent Invention Award. The Industry-Academia Research Project Excellent Invention Award is a system that selects and awards excellent patents among patents applied for during research projects at universities with which SK Hynix has industry-academia cooperation, and has been held annually since 2013.

In this award, Professor Kim Min-hyeok of KAIST was selected as the grand prize winner for developing a technology to reduce noise related to CIS (CMOS Image Sensor) images. This technology was highly evaluated for its high possibility of being applied to actual products. In addition, Professor Han Jae-deok of Hanyang University was selected as the grand prize winner, and Professor Cho Nam-ik of Seoul National University, Professor Jeon Woo-jin of Kyunghee University, and Professor Lee Dong-hee of Sungkyunkwan University were selected as the encouragement prize winners.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, SK Hynix held the awards ceremony by visiting the winners in person to present their awards.

As a global first-class technology company, SK Hynix plans to continue to reward excellent research and development achievements and industry-academia cooperation in the future to encourage the morale of researchers contributing to the development of the semiconductor industry and to promote technological development.
