With demand for 5G infrastructure expected to increase in the future, Nuvoton has been honored with the Product of the Year award for its technological prowess in MCU solutions for the communications and IIoT sectors.

Nuvoton Technology announced on the 9th that it won the Product of the Year award in the Taiwan category at the 'EE Awards Asia 2022'.

The NuMicro M030G/M031G series microcontrollers, which were selected for the Product of the Year award, were selected through a voting process by a committee comprised of expert judges from EE Times, EDN and ASPENCORE, as well as the reader community.

Held alongside the EE Tech Summit, Project Green Challenge, and the awards ceremony, the EE Awards Asia 2022, with the goal of “Creating the Future with the Electronics Industry and Changing the World with Engineers,” recognizes outstanding products, companies, and entrepreneurs across Asia.

Nuvoton focuses on developing IC products for microcontrollers and microprocessing, smart IIoT, and smart home applications. Furthermore, in anticipation of the 5G boom, the company is taking steps to address the strong demand for optical communication infrastructure in the communications and data sectors. To provide a platform solution for optical transceiver applications, the company launched the new NuMicro M030G/M031G series microcontrollers in the first half of this year.

The NuMicro M030G/M031G series features: △small packages including QFN24 3mm x 3mm and QFN33 4mm x 4mm △±2°C built-in temperature accuracy from -40°C to 105°C △high-speed I2C interface that can reach 1MHz in slave mode △built-in hardware Manchester codec for optical communication to Dorchester code conversion.

Additionally, it features four sets of DACs and up to 16 channels of ADCs, and the integration of a rich set of analog peripherals into this compact IC allows for flexible use across applications. Beyond optical transceiver applications, the M030G/M031G series microcontrollers are also used in applications such as sensors, small screens, small home appliances, power modules, pico projectors, and wearable devices.
