Infineon Technologies (Korea CEO Seung-soo Lee) is expected to present an optimal alternative for the development of smart wearable and IoT devices through the launch of an NFC solution featuring ultra-small and ultra-low power characteristics.

Infineon announced on the 14th that it has launched SECORA™ Connect X, a payment solution for ultra-small devices that supports NFC wireless charging.

This ultra-low power boost NFC solution provides an easy path for EMVCo-based payments.

In addition, this solution enables NFC wireless charging for smart wearables such as smart rings, wristbands, and smartwatches, making it more user-friendly and convenient.

The SECORA Connect X Boost NFC solution provides secure remote management capabilities and enables consumer authentication on the smart device.

Designed primarily for payment, transportation, and access applications, SECORA Connect X enables the rapid development of secure NFC use cases.

Infineon is supporting smart ring manufacturers in integrating both payment and NFC wireless charging functions by using a single NFC antenna in ultra-small devices.

Through the pre-certified payment application, simple user interface, and easy host integration of the PSoC™-based evaluation kit, openValza and OEMs can benefit from a seamless migration path and a shortened overall time-to-market.

In addition, the Consumer Device Cardholder Verification Method (CDCVM) feature reduces transaction times, enhances security, and enables seamless customer authentication on the terminal without the need for additional PIN entry. Payment data is stored on Infineon security chips for best-in-class security.

The SECORA Connect X multi-chip package connects to a single small antenna with a small footprint, reducing device size while increasing design flexibility. Furthermore, SECORA Connect X features a simple external circuit layout with reduced chip size, seven or fewer capacitors, and a highly optimized, compact form factor. The ultra-small antenna shortens battery charging time, allowing it to be charged from 20% to 80% in less than 45 minutes.

Thanks to the ultra-low power consumption of this solution, the total battery life can reach 3 to 4 days. In addition, the payment solution's standby mode has almost no impact on battery life because, through Infineon's enhanced NFC design, it requires only 4 to 6 μA, which is much less than other products on the market.

As a result, SECORA Connect X enhances customer convenience by implementing optimal transaction performance.
