Infineon Technologies (hereafter Infineon) has unveiled a microphone that can be flexibly used in various application environments inside and outside of vehicles, and reduces the effort and risk of errors during module and system verification.

Infineon announced today the launch of its new automotive XENSIV™ MEMS microphone IM68A130A, which provides a flat frequency response down to 10 Hz for ANC systems employing an analog interface.

ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) ensures quietness inside the car, providing passengers with a more comfortable driving experience.

Using advanced ANC solutions instead of passive damping techniques can significantly reduce vehicle weight, thereby increasing vehicle efficiency.

The IM68A130A microphone features a flat frequency response, stable phase response, and extremely low frequency roll-off (LFRO = 10 Hz).

The high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR = 68 dB(A)) and excellent acoustic overload point (AOP = 130 dBSPL) provide excellent voice performance, making it suitable for use as a general-purpose microphone in all audio systems.

It is also suitable for beamforming and ANC, but the carMicrophones are strategically placed inside or outside the cabin to detect interior noise. They then generate opposite-phase sound waves through the audio speakers, reducing interior noise levels.

Qualified according to the AEC-Q103-003 standard, Infineon's new microphone meets automotive requirements and operates over an extended temperature range of up to 105°C, making it flexible for a variety of application environments both inside and outside the vehicle.
