Mobility technology, eco-friendly car parts technology development, support for Jeonbuk companies' transition to future cars

The Korea Automobile Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as KARI), together with Jeollabuk-do and the Automotive Convergence Technology Institute (hereinafter referred to as JIAT), is taking the lead in establishing the future mobility industry and ecosystem in Jeollabuk-do.

Hanjayeon announced on the 25th that it signed a 'Business Agreement for Leading Future Mobility and Building an Industrial Ecosystem' with Jeollabuk-do, JIAT, and Jeollabuk-do Provincial Office located in Wansan-gu, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do.

On this day, the MOU signing was attended by about 20 key figures, including Hanjayeon Director Na Seung-sik, Jeollabuk-do Governor Kim Gwan-young, JIAT Director Lee Hang-gu, Hanjayeon Management Strategy Headquarters Deputy Director Lim Gwang-hoon, Jeollabuk-do Future Industry Bureau Director Oh Taek-rim, and JIAT Strategy Planning Team Director Noh Yoon-sik.

Through this MOU, the three organizations will continue to work closely together to discover and foster new industries in the future mobility sector in Jeollabuk-do, and to develop the future mobility industry in Jeollabuk-do, including advancing the parts industry and building an ecosystem.

Specifically, △Development of core technologies for future mobility such as autonomous vehicles, infrastructure construction and verification △Development of key components for eco-friendly vehicles and inspection/certification △Micro-scale production of companies located in Jeollabuk-doWe plan to provide future transition support.

Hanjayeon expects that by combining Jeollabuk-do's geographical and industrial base and infrastructure with the research and development experience and know-how of the Automobile Convergence Technology Institute, it will be able to accelerate the development of Jeollabuk-do's future mobility industry, such as autonomous driving, eco-friendliness, and UAM.

Na Seung-sik, president of Hanjayeon, said, “I have high expectations for cooperating with Jeollabuk-do, which has secured infrastructure and foundations such as Saemangeum and the electric vehicle cluster, and the Korea Automobile Convergence Technology Institute, which has excellent research and development capabilities.” He added, “We will do our best to contribute to the development of the future mobility industry in Jeollabuk-do through the synergy between the three organizations and provide effective support for the growth and technological advancement of related companies.”
