SKT's AI pyramid strategy is gaining momentum as the K-AI Alliance expands to 16 companies.

SK Telecom announced on the 6th that it has invested in and signed a strategic partnership with 'Allganize', an all-in-one solution company, and 'ImpriMed', an AI-based company developing prognosis prediction models for anticancer drugs for companion animals and humans.

SKT invested approximately KRW 5.4 billion (USD 4 million) in Allganize, an all-in-one solution company for large language models (LLM), and approximately KRW 4 billion (USD 3 million) in Imprimed, a company developing AI-based prognostic models for anticancer drugs for companion animals and humans, and acquired shares.

Allganize uses a generative AI cognitive search solution based on a large-scale language model to quickly analyze and summarize corporate documents. It offers a variety of AI apps and solutions that support innovations in work productivity. Currently, it serves over 200 clients in the US, Japan, and Korea. SK Telecom and Allganize are pursuing a joint LLM-based AI app market project.

The two companies plan to further enhance LLM-based enterprise AI apps by incorporating SKT's AI and cloud technologies into the approximately 100 AI apps available in Allganize's app market. Additionally, the company plans to expand its business by linking with the 'Intelligence Platform' that SKT plans to launch in the future.

Imprimed is an AI-based biotechnology startup that possesses technology that analyzes accumulated cancer patient data using AI algorithms to recommend optimal anticancer treatments.

The two companies will develop and enhance a model that predicts prognosis through data analysis of cancer patients' clinical data, genetic information, and images by combining SKT's AI solutions, including Vision AI, with Imprimed's biotechnology.

In particular, Imprimed has implemented a drug analysis service for companion dogs with blood cancer, providing solutions to over 200 animal hospitals in the United States. SK Telecom expects Imprimed's sales network to establish a bridgehead for its pet AI healthcare service, "Excalibur," into the US market.

Meanwhile, the two companies have joined the SKT-led "K-AI Alliance," expanding the number of members to 16. The 16 companies include Allganize, Imprimed, Sapion, Bespin Global, Moloco, Conan Technology, Sweet, Phantom AI, Tuart, Cmes, MakinaRocks, Scatter Lab, Friendly AI, Gauss Labs, Onmind, and Persona AI.

SKT Chief Business Development Officer (CDO) Ha Min-yong said, “As a global AI company, the K-AI Alliance plays a very important role in promoting AI transformation in various industries through AI technology.” He added, “We will continue to expand and strengthen cooperation with domestic and foreign AI players to revitalize the AI ​​ecosystem in Korea.”
