e4ds MAKE will host a webinar introducing building control research using computer vision technology at EEWebinar on the 7th.

The building sector accounts for approximately 20% of domestic final energy consumption. Accordingly, the government is actively supporting innovative research and development to improve building energy efficiency.

This webinar will be presented by the Korea Institute of Energy Research, which conducts research and development on applying cutting-edge ICT to buildings. Various technologies and examples of computer vision technology applied to buildings will be presented.

Senior Researcher Choi Ha-neul will present this webinar, introducing trends in building energy research, explaining the principles of computer vision technology, research on ventilation system control based on the number of occupants, and research on heating and cooling system control based on activity level and clothing amount.

Computer vision technology applied to buildings can detect occupant information (such as occupancy and comfort) and utilize it to efficiently operate heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. This can conserve building energy and improve indoor environmental quality.
