Establishment of a cooperation network regarding European C2C-CC and V2X technology standardization
Identifying international joint R&D with companies participating in the Connected Mobility Alliance

The Korea Automotive Research Institute (hereinafter KAERI) has opened a German office with the support of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and is taking the lead in strengthening research cooperation with the local region and Europe.

The Korea Automotive Research Institute announced on Thursday, the 22nd, that it held the 'Opening Ceremony of the Korea Automotive Research Institute Germany Office' at the Eschborn International Business District in Germany on the 21st (local time), with the participation of Director Na Seung-sik and officials from Korea and Germany.

Through its German office, KJA plans to establish a cooperation network regarding V2X technology standardization with C2C-CC, a European automotive industry consortium, and strengthen global R&D cooperation with domestic companies participating in the Connected Mobility Alliance.

The Connected Mobility Alliance is a public-private joint alliance launched by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in November 2022 to foster the connected mobility industry ecosystem and cooperation, with 104 organizations participating across four divisions.

C2C-CC stands for CAR 2 CAR Communication Consortium and is a key consortium in the European connected car industry.

Specifically, by providing regular exchange opportunities between domestic Connected Mobility Alliance member companies and the European C2C-CC, it promotes exchange between Korean and German companies and international We plan to create opportunities for joint R&D discovery.

Na Seung-sik, President of the Korea Connected Mobility Association, stated, “The Germany office will serve as a hub for mobility industry cooperation between the two countries and Europe,” adding, “In accordance with the future mid-to-long-term roadmap, we will contribute to the development of the domestic connected mobility industry by acting as a bridgehead for effective international joint R&D and support for domestic companies.”

Meanwhile, the Korea Automotive Research Institute operates overseas base offices, including the North American and Indonesian offices, for international R&D cooperation.
