Leading the way in strengthening V2X technological competitiveness and revitalizing global cooperation
Plan to identify international cooperation opportunities such as EUREKA and Horizon Europe

The Korea Automotive Technology Institute (President Na Seung-sik, hereinafter KATTI) is taking the lead in strengthening technological competitiveness in the advanced V2X field and promoting global cooperation with the Finnish National Technical Research Institute (President Antti Vasara, hereinafter VTT).

Na Seung-sik, President of the Korea Association of Advanced Technology (KAIT), and Jussi Maninen, Vice President of VTT, announced on the 4th that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in advanced V2X technology at the VTT research institute in Tampere, Finland, on the 1st (local time).

VTT (VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd) is Finland's largest national technical research institute, established in 1942.

It is solidifying its leading position within Europe through research focused on innovative technologies and commercialization in fields such as ICT, electronics, biotechnology, energy, and security, and participates in and operates various research programs in collaboration with global associations and research institutes.

Through this MOU, KITA and VTT are expected to continue close cooperation to strengthen the competitiveness of advanced V2X technology and promote global collaboration.

The two institutions Regarding V2X-supported remote control technology, plans are underway to carry out various joint research including vehicle V2X technology for supporting remotely controlled vehicles and vehicle testing and evaluation methods, as well as to identify various international cooperation opportunities such as EUREKA (the world's largest joint research and development (R&D) platform) and Horizon Europe (Europe's largest research and innovation financial support program) and expand partnerships between the two organizations.

Na Seung-sik, President of the Korea Autonomous Research Institute, stated, “Advanced V2X technology is a core technology for realizing fully autonomous driving, and active research is being conducted worldwide for its commercialization.” He added, “Through cooperation with VTT, we will not only take the lead in the advancement of V2X technology but also drive global R&D collaboration to accelerate its commercialization.”
