Nuvoton announced on the 18th the NuMicro® MA35H0 series, a high-performance microprocessor for industrial HMI (Human Machine Interface) applications.

The new MPU can be used for sophisticated tasks across a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, including general control and user interface applications, as well as industrial HMI, factory automation, smart buildings, smart homes, smart appliances, smart medical services, and new energy.

The MA35H0 is built around power-efficient dual 64/32-bit Cortex-A35 cores based on the Armv8 A architecture running at up to 650MHz, with 32KB of L1 cache per core and 512KB of shared L2 cache.

Stacking 128MB of DDR SDRAM inside a 24㎟ LQFP216 package (part number MA35H04F767C) eliminates the need for external memory, saving space and reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and cost.

It also supports Arm® TrustZone secure boot and other security features to protect code and data. It also features a high-performance hardware floating-point unit (FPU) that enhances digital signal processing (DSP) capabilities. The operating temperature range supports the industrial grade range (Tj) of -40°C to 125°C.

Highlighting the powerful visuals of modern user interfaces, the new products include the Arm NEON advanced single instruction, multiple data (SIMD) engine, which enhances media encoding/decoding, UI, and 2D graphics performance.

It has a built-in 2D graphics and video decoder, supports 60fps 1280x800 LCD output, and provides on-chip security support and various high-speed connection options.

The MA35H0 highlights practical security features required by today's applications, including root of trust and secure boot via an internal boot ROM with OTP key.

The built-in LCD controller provides a sharp and responsive user interface up to 1280x800 with 2D graphics hardware acceleration and fast on-chip JPEG and H.264 video decoding, and can deliver full-screen video at 60 fps.

The MA35H0 is equipped with a variety of high-speed connectivity and I/O features, making it suitable for any application environment. These include Megabit Ethernet supporting IEEE 1588v2, USB 2.0 high-speed host and device, SDIO 3.0, QSPI, CAN FD, UART, and I2S. It also supports 4- and 5-wire resistive touchscreens without an external IC decoder.
