Dell Technologies is aggressively pursuing the AI data platform market, spearheaded by PowerScale storage.

Dell announced on the 22nd that it is strengthening its storage portfolio by collaborating with global leaders such as NVIDIA and Starburst to help businesses and organizations maximize the value of their data in the AI era.

First, Dell announced that its Dell PowerScale storage, in close collaboration with NVIDIA, has been certified as the industry's first Ethernet storage for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD.

Additionally, the company announced the official launch of 'Dell Data Lakehouse', a full-stack configuration of Starburst software and Dell hardware, in collaboration with data analytics platform company 'Starburst'.

Dell announced that its Dell PowerScale solution is the first in the industry to be certified as Ethernet-based storage for NVIDIA's DGX SuperPOD.

By introducing a DGX system that integrates 'Dell PowerScale' with NVIDIA's AI reference architecture, DGX SuperPOD, you can get a turnkey solution that has been pre-validated and tested. You can easily and quickly build an infrastructure for generative AI based on the system.

In particular, technologies such as NVIDIA Magnum IO, GPUDirect Storage, and NFS over RDMA are built into the NVIDIA ConnectX-6 NIC (network interface card), enabling high-speed data access and minimizing the time required for AI training, checkpointing, and inference.

Additionally, you can maximize GPU utilization and performance by leveraging the new Multipath Client Driver provided by Dell PowerScale.

NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD includes the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform for a full-stack AI supercomputing solution and offers NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand and Spectrum Ethernet networking configurations to help you accelerate and securely pursue generative AI projects.

Dell Technologies' newly launched 'Dell Data Lakehouse' is an open, modern data platform that provides secure and easy single-point access to data regardless of where it is stored.

Dell Data Lakehouse consists of the Starburst-based Dell Data Analytics Engine, Kubernetes-based Dell Lakehouse System Software, compute nodes comprised of Dell PowerEdge servers, and scale-out storage nodes comprised of Dell ECS or Dell ObjectScale.

Dell offers full-stack software that includes AI-optimized hardware and a powerful query engine. The strategy is to provide an integrated data platform to help customers quickly obtain actionable business insights from data in the AI era.
