STMicroelectronics (ST) and HighTec EDV-Systeme have collaborated to announce an integrated solution that enables safer software-defined vehicles.

ST announced on the 13th that it is further enhancing the safety and economy of software-defined vehicles by integrating ST’s Stellar MCU, which has obtained ISO 26262 ASIL D certification, with HiTek’s Rust compiler.

Davide Santo, Senior Vice President of ST’s Automotive Microcontroller Business Unit, stated, “Software-defined vehicles are revolutionizing vehicle design and user experience by replacing traditional hardware-based electronic control units (ECUs) with programmable systems. Through this collaboration, we will support automotive manufacturers in meeting the highest safety standards while leveraging the powerful capabilities of Rust.”
