The Korea Automotive Research Institute (President Jin Jong-wook) has established a forum for exchange to promote innovation and development of HMI (Human Machine Interface) technology connecting humans and automobiles.

On the 15th, Hanjayeon held the 19th Jasan Eobo with the theme of 'HMI: Communication between humans and automobiles, connecting emotions beyond technology' at the COEX Startup Branch in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Approximately 120 people from the automotive industry attended the event and discussed the latest research and development status of HMI technology and strategies for its use in the future mobility industry.

The Asset Management event, short for "Uniting and Supporting the Automotive Industry," is a networking event where members of the mobility industry regularly interact, share information, and promote collaboration.

This event featured a variety of discussions on HMI technology, which plays a key role in the era of autonomous driving.

Starting with the welcoming remarks by Director Jin Jong-wook of Hanjayeon University, Professor Yang Ji-hyun of Kookmin University presented on ‘12 Years of Automotive HMI – The Journey and Insights of Planning, Research, and Evaluation.’

Next, Han Ja-yeon, Park Seon-hong, a senior researcher in the driving control technology division, presented the status of HMI R&D development, and Dr. Cha Du-won, former CEO of Sonnet, presented the future mobility HMI technology industry. He presented his outlook.

Additionally, Hyundai Mobis, Motrex, and Yellowknife made presentations as leading companies.

At the event venue, a booth for research results and technology consulting from the 'Driving Control Technology Division' under the Hanja Autonomous Driving Technology Research Institute was operated, and promotional booths for four innovative companies, including Motrex, Yellowknife, Fusionsoft, and U2 Systems, were also set up to support technology exchange and the discovery of partner companies.

CEO Jin Jong-wook said, “With the advent of the smart mobility era and the advancement of autonomous driving technology, the role of HMI technology, which is at the core of the interaction between drivers and vehicles, is becoming more important.” He added, “Through close cooperation among industry members, we will take the lead in developing innovative technologies that provide convenience and safety and in strengthening global technological competitiveness.”
