Applied Materials Korea (CEO Park Kwang-sun) has proven itself as a leader in creating a sustainable future both domestically and internationally through ESG management.

Applied Materials has established itself as a model company for sustainable management by winning both the 'ESG Grand Prize' and the 'Minister of Foreign Affairs Award' at the '2025 K-ESG Management Awards' ceremony held at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul on the 21st.

The K-ESG Management Awards are a prestigious ESG awards ceremony sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Environment, and the Fair Trade Commission. They are awarded to companies that have demonstrated excellent management practices in environmental, social, and governance aspects.

In particular, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award, newly established this year, is given to companies recognized for their international expansion of ESG management and achievements in global cooperation, and Applied Materials was honored to receive awards in both categories.

CEO Park Gwang-seon said, “It is very meaningful that Applied Materials’ efforts for sustainable growth and innovation are recognized both domestically and internationally,” and added, “We will continue to practice responsible management, including environmental protection, carbon reduction, and shared growth with local communities.”

Applied Korea has been in business since 2020 We have been contributing to improving river water quality through various activities such as throwing EM soil balls, planting water purification plants, and removing plants that disrupt the ecosystem by operating the citizen participation environmental campaign 'Guardians of Our Rivers' together with the Korea Federation for Environmental Movements.

We also collaborate with the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation to support the "Science Classroom with Applied Materials" and "Traditional Culture Classroom," contributing to children's education and talent development. Since 2012, we have also supported young talent through the Semiconductor Scholarship Award Ceremony in partnership with the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association.

Applied Materials' international collaborations are also noteworthy. Working with the semiconductor industry, Applied Materials has implemented the "Net Zero 2040 Playbook™" to reduce carbon emissions. This has resulted in achievements such as achieving 73% renewable electricity usage and reducing Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 6 million tons. Applied Materials also supports its customers' sustainable operations by expanding its eco-friendly technology portfolio and promoting ethical management across its supply chain.
